Calypso Art Quilts are original design creations by artist Jamila Hammad, inspired by the majesty of the living sea and the beauty of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. Each piece is lovingly handcrafted using a variety of traditional and innovative quilting techniques. The fabrics selected are a combination of commercially printed cottons and hand-died batiks. The quilts are designed to be hung, and each quilt comes with a sleeve on the top rear through which you can slide a horizontal wooden dowel or decorative rod. See how to hang a quilt.

February 9th to 29th: Cultural Creations VI, on King Street, Frederiksted, St. Croix.
February 15th to 18th: Good Hope School's Caribbean Fine Art Exhibit (info). Come and meet Jamila at the opening night reception, Friday, February 15, 7pm to 9pm.
