John Windwalker

It's taken the better part of 15 years, much pestering and a cartload of guidance to get this website up and running.  John and Jamila live what we lived.  Oh, they've gone through most all of what we went through, and no doubt they could just not keep a secret any longer.  As my beloved friends both know, I am not one to mince words.  So when you enter our tent, you will most likely never wish to leave.

That it not be seen ever as trivial, the devotion, commitment, stick-to-it-ness and just plain willingness to be available are things for which Rumi and I eternally thank the souls known as John and Jamila.  Let their good fortune be yours.

John was born on Long Island, New York and as a young boy discovered that it was possible to connect with an inner peace when the world around him was in turmoil.  Years later, at age 28, John met his teacher, John Robert Norman, in Marin County, California. A devoted student, John learned to develop and strengthen his clairvoyant and healing abilities.  In the years since, John has become a beloved teacher himself, guiding his students to overcome their fears and accelerate their spiritual growth.  He lives a quiet and reverent life close to nature and expresses his love through channeling the Masters, teaching, making photographs and playing guitar.   John continues to channel Rumi and Shams regularly and is available to conduct talks and workshops.

Jamila was born in Colombia, of a Palestinian father and a Colombian mother.  She grew up in the United States and is married to Bob, who was born in Canada of a Greek Father.  Their families are spread out across the globe, and if they were all to gather in one place, there would be conversations in English, Spanish, Arabic and Greek.  Jamila abandoned a career in Marketing in favor of a creative life.  She and Bob moved from New Jersey to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, where she is inspired by, and creates art honoring the Spirit of the Sea.  Despite the distance, John and Jamila communicate daily and she continues to act as scribe for all channelings with Rumi and Shams.

Jelaluddin Rumi and Shams of Tabriz

The works of the great Sufi poet and mystic, Jelaluddin Rumi, are perhaps more relevant today than they were in the 13th Century when he wrote them.  His greatest inspiration was a vagabond named Shams of Tabriz, of which very little is known, until now.  Rumi's encounter with Shams changed both of their lives.  Rumi's friendship with Shams not only jeopardized his reputation as a great scholar, but forced him to rethink his core beliefs.  It was Shams who led Rumi to discover God within himself.

More than anything in the world, Rumi and Shams yearned to know God beyond books and dogma.  What they found was a new way of looking at life and at themselves.  Now they share these experiences that we may expand our perspective of God, and in so doing, discover a life of joyful adventure.
